SOCOM 3: What's the LOWDOWN on Socom 3 online?

Hey fellow Socom 3 players,

It's a pleasure to hear that Socom fans are still out there, and getting their game on. I'm a fellow Socom player myself, but have been missing out on all the fun, do to work, and school. So, I have found this site, and actually found some Socom Gamers that are familiar with this PlayStation 2 game. I have specifically made this post for all Socom 3 players to read, so I can get some feed-back on how Socom 3 is preforming on Single Player, and Online, how the graphics are played out perfectly in the game, stuff like that. Has anything dramatically changed over the years of the viewing of Socom? Anything at all? Before I buy Socom 3 to complete my full edition of Socom I need some experienced players to tell me how Socom 3 is in the gaming world, how would you personally rank it? Before Socom 3 came out, I played Socom up to Socom 2. Best game I have ever played in my life, it's rather addictive if you say so myself, and it can really get you frustrated. But, that's whats so fun about it wouldn't you agree? On Socom - 2 I was known as ><[LADY+M14]>< I was a member of the "PMS_Pimpettes", and [GIB] "Girls in Battle." As most of you "old" players know "PMS", is the #1 female clan on Socom, and to be accepted on that clan is worth telling about. [GIB] was another very good Female clan, fairly high-ranked. Lead by "Psycho Penguin." I was ranked a Captian (600 - 500) with some fairly reasonable stats: 17,854 kills and 10,546 deaths (I like to keep notes on my ranking/stats). I've been playing Socom for years, and have been missing out on it for about 1, and I miss it dramatically. So please, if you can help me out it would be very helpful. Just fill me in on Socom 3, and what makes that game drag everyone to it's becking-call. First off....WELCOME TO SOCOM-3.COM. Ure going to love alot things they improved such as hit detecion and lag. Lag is almost gone completely. The attachments are so wonderful each gun can have its own signature. Depending on what you equip it with. I have been playing since socom 1 as well. and I just love all the improvements since the very first game.

Everything has changed. Socom 3 plays feels differently from socom 1&2. so get used to playing single player 1st to get used to it. The maps are huge giving each player more breathing room. I could go on all day about how great s3 is but action is better than words. So just play it for ureself

Hahaha, Well thanks guys for you're inputs. I've already had some So-crack, which still runs rapidly through my vains, got some packed up in my closet too. But seriously lol, I will play Single-Player to get myself pumped up again for Socom 3. Thanks again guys, it was a big help.

I havent played the previous SOCOM titles prior to SOCOM 3 but I will tell you now, for the first week at least, you will hardly put the controller down. This game is addictive, I think it should be tested by the science geeks to be put on the list of addictive drugs.

Maybe even get a new rating?

But seriously, this game is great if you like war games and shooting in general.

The biggest problems people face are their mics not always working, alot of campers, invisible ghillie suits (predator), the F90, GLs, kids (dont agree with that one), and the fact that Zipper seems to have hired those 2 cavemen from the Geico advert to run the online side of the game. That is not all the problems but there the ones that most people have problems with.

Thanks for the Warm Welcome, and I wish there was just a simple way to block out all that BullCrap people always pull into online gaming. It destoys all the fun in the gaming world. If only Sony could have some kind of chip in their consoles to block all that out..

The addiction like Socom 1 had is completely gone. If you played Socom 1 and you might not enjoy this title too much.

lady, i dont want to sound mean or anything, welcome to the forums, but i can honestly say that this thread may get locked in the near future, not because of its bad content, but becaue you can get the lowdown on socom just by reading all the posts, threads, sections of these ENTIRE forums, not soley on one single forum. I wish you all the best in your socom-ing, but I would advise you to also read the rest of these forums, lots of information here
