~SNIPING TIPS AND TACTICS OF SOCOM 3~

you kinda posted in the wrong spot, already a sticky of this...but here's some tips anyways.

1) don't be a proning wh0r3, just have your dude on crouch so that you can transition to quickscopin easily and it will help you out on the long run.
2) don't use a 12x scope, use a high scope when applicable
3) use a m82/m87 sniper rifle
4) play respawns first before you play in public rooms
5) Don't camp in a corner with a ghillesuit-learn how to snipe, not camp
6) try to stay away from all guns except for snipers when you first try it out, you'll need the practice.
7) best maps for NEW snipers: harvester, devils road, killing fields if it's respawn.
utilize your pistol when needed, play pistol only respawns if you're scared of getting owned.
9) Don't force yourself to snipe on every map.
10) Remember to learn from other ppl

And yes I don't suck at sniping so these are actual stuff i did when I just started out

After learning how to snipe, quickscope to become a sniping god. It helps you outsnipe almost everyone and you'll probably get recruited from high ranked clans (GB).

If you just wanna prone snipe, there's no need to actually practice...it's easy enough in socom 3.

My final thing about sniping, NEVER give up, the first time I picked up my m87, I went 5-7 (that's horrible for just crouching and not moving) And, you'll never be as good as me *gets flamed in 10,9,8,...*

Thanks dude you actually helped me out see othe people will help you out the only thing i don't like about Killing feilds is there is no real line in Harvester there is but killing fields people tend to to cross so if you want my info. i say stick to harvester and stick to Devils road RESPAWN ONLY till your good

I can be a pretty deadly sniper, and here are my tips

1)Use prone alot, it helps your scope steady and you blend in more
2)If your new to it play alot of respawn rooms with big open maps like killing feilds, devils road, harvester.
3)If you want to practice on your urban sniping, go to maps like waterlogged.
4)USE THE GHILLIE SUITS if you have them
5)If you expect to engage tangos at over 150m, get the M82A1A, M87ELR or L96AW. I preferably stick to the L96AW than the 50.cals, because its quieter and less muzzle flash. Gives a little bit of both worlds, stealth and power, its also stronger than the silenced rifles.
6)If your in a game were every kill matters(like a clan match or ranked game) instead of the L96AW use the 50.cals, were the kill is almost guarrenteed.
7)If you want to stay stealthy as possible use the SR-25 silenced or SASR silenced. If you have the Medium Scope, use it instead of 12x scope

The way I snipe, is more of an offensive sniper type.
I find out whatever area they're(the enemy) is in, or is expected to be in, find a position were i can get an open shot i.e find a position were you can get shots on a convoy load zone, or a common route used to get to the bomb in demolition. In supression i find out were the action is, get in a position about 140meters away from it, scope in and have some fun:)

I also mainly stick to the silenced rifles, since i prefer stealth and not being found. The feeling of taking down a guy whos next his teammate with a silenced rifle, and their teamate just sits there like "WHERE THE *censored* DID THAT COME FROM?", And then taking them down..just a good feeling lol

if u want to snipe with an assault rifle, i recommend the m16 because it is very accurate

I usually always use the SASR or SR-25 when I'm sniping .... but I just hate the 12x scope. And being a terrorist means that you are limited to that and the 4x. I just like to be able to zoom in to a little higher than 3rd person view to check out whats going on around me. The 12x scope is more of a zoom in, zoom out, turn, zoom in type of deal for me. I'd say for me the SEAL's have the advantage between the two guns just because it has the option of the medium scope. I dunno though ... that's just me.

The M87 is one of the most PERFECT long range OSOK rifles the millitary has. let me just say this... if it were up to me, i'd carry that gun on every mission i went out on in real world combat. So to anyone who says that the M87 or 82 is "cheap" they're just pissed cause they've been hit by it WAY too many times to count. I LOVED my .050 cal. rifle! so F the haters! haha!

also... on topic, the most effective killer is a mobile sniper. if you are spotted, you MUST be able to move. I agree with the others who say you need to keep your cool and fight off youre aggressors, but when the attack is too overwelming you need to know how to fight on the run. If you are a threat on the run as well as prone, you're invincible!

ROFL you idiot the M87 isnt even the real name for it. And for your mobile sniper (in other words quickscoping) if you have a wingman you will be better off because your wingman can cover you while you p**sy snipe and get the kills while your wingman sits there and protects your dumbfuk ***. And second of all the M87/M82 is crap use a L96AW/M40A1 and play the your invincible if you are good with both either SEAL/Terroist. Il ike your end "Happy Hunting" Also dont people that quicksnipe there is nothing wrong with quicksniping because (Devil's Road) perfect ex. Im quicksniping and there are 4 different prone snipers and none of them can hit me. I snipe all 4 with headshot kills and end the round. ROFL they all had M87s too. they get mad cuz they cant hit me and say i pulling my cord or some noob **** like that. I dont lag switch/glitch (only if its just my peeps) so stop calling everyone noob because they are better than u ok.
