Age old argument resolved here...does rank matter?

there are a few topics that will always be talked about...example...n00b guns, rank, etc...and this question is...do you play for rank, do you play to have fun, and does your rank matter to you?

YES YES AND YES

sure...i play for fun...but seriously...if you get like 25 kills...isnt it nice to know that it actually counted toward something...without rank...you'd say...."well gee...that was oodles of fun...now that none of that matters...time to play another great game of socom2"...playing for rank is one of the many reasons we play socom for...it gives the game more purpose....not playing for rank is like saying..."well our team plays for fun...we dont care what place we come in"...or like the Panthers saying "who cares if we didn't win the superbowl...at least we had fun this year"...many will post and say rank doesn't matter...but they're only kidding themselves....believe me when i say....rank DOES infact matter to you

i agree, it matters to me, i'd like to be a captain someday, but if you let it rule your play, you'll play badly
.. and i wouldn't tell anybody it matters to them.

I just play for fun now. I use to play for rank all the time. I would worry about staying a Captain and getting there. Once I stayed a Captain then I would worry about keeping my rank like under 5,000 or something, but now I could care less because all the ranking up makes it impossible.

I don't necessarily play for rank...more of the stats. My stats are not as great as they should be, since I used this name since Socom 1...I had it in my noob days, so it was hard geting over my kill-death ratio.

i have to be honest. i Play for fun. But i care about my rank. Im one of those people that if you team kill even after the round next round ur getting a clip in you..i dont care i dont want anymore deaths than i already have...so stop tk'ing me after the round and laughing cuz u only get cut off with a bullet in your mouth biotch =)

The game is supposed to be fun. People who take it seriously just for rank are not having to much fun. People who are trying to reach the top of the list will be highly dissapointed when they top out around 5000. There is so much rank up going on it is tough to rank up no matter how good you are.

Play for fun or go home!!!!!
