Any suggestions on my internet problem? (help wanted)

alright, i have i think 5 computers all hooked up to one router in my house, and it's been like that for at least a year. I never lagged when I played s2 and i never lagged when i played s3 until about 5 days ago when all my games are now lagging a little and i've been getting kicked off sometimes. Internet explorer and all the internet programs on the computer still work quickly, but for some reason, over the last 5 days, all the socom games I play in have lagged, and people have told me that I'm lagging badly (the first time this has ever happened for me), so it can't be the socom servers, but it has to be my connection somehow, though, like i said, the computer's internet is working fine.

I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions as to what i should try to do or try to fix to make socom online be lag-free again for me, like it's always been until (randomly, as far as i know) the last 5 days. I've reset my router/modem a couple of times and I've shut down and restarted the computer in my room where my ps2 is, but to no avail...still the same laggy results.

Any and all help would be appreciated guys.

one of the 5 computers is actually on wireless, but they're all connected to the router? i dont really know...i'm not much of a tech person....but yea, all 5 computers are on the router and they're all online at the same time...but it's never been a problem in the past or anything.

i mean, hopefully it'll just revert back to how it was before since this is pretty random how it's gotten laggy, but i'm just wondering if anyone else has experienced the same problem and if they found a solution to it...or if they haven't had this problem, any other suggestions out there

I was just saying in another thread that i had similar problems in the past. i had DSL originally with a modem/router for 3 computers and a ps2 in my house and the results were horrible. i was able to use the computers but i would always get booted off of socom. i like my online games though so i reached down deeper into my pockets and i bought optimum online (highest speed available in my town) with a modem and no router just for gaming. i use the DSL for the 3 computers alone now i havent had a problem since.

i've been playing pretty much all day and it just continues to lag. maybe it's something i can't fix, and maybe it'll just go away, but it's sure annoying as hell right now.

try going to each computer and going to network connections and disconnecting from the LAN while playing. if the lag goes away after a specific computer see if it has any programs porgrams that could be occcuping bandwith running on them(ie. limewire, aim,...) if you conclude that just one computer is making it do that than just try to disconect from the network on that computer when playing
