Classes of people in the SOCOM universe (For the new guys)
I'm sure I'll get plenty of flames on this one. :)

There are two classes of people that play SOCOM 3:

Class #1: People that have fun with the game. These people don't complain about how it was "bullsh*t" that they got shot, and they also don't try to "talk" themselves up to other people in an effort to look cool and talented. They will actually congratulate the opposing team on a job well done.

Class #2: People that will find any excuse in the book to try and cover for themselves being killed during a round (these people can be referred to as "total noobs"). Common excuses you will find on this forum and during matches will be the following:

1. "Man, I put five rounds in that guy's head, and he killed me. That's bullsh*t!!"

2. "The only reason he got me was because of a lucky shot."

3. "I died because my team mate screwed up."

4. "Dude, the only reason I got killed was because they are using noob guns." (This one is very, very common).

5. "That guy only killed me because he must be glitching."

6. "Dude, the only reason I got shot was because of lag." (Sometimes this can be a valid excuse)

Also, you can usually determine who is a "total noob" by the numerous posts in these forums about which weapon, and what fighting style is "noobish" to them. They are also known for talking at great lengths, whether you want them to or not. While these types of people are great for comedic value, sometimes they do tend to get annoying.

For all the new guys out there, try your best to avoid being the #2 class of people on this game. This is just a game, have fun, make friends.

Also, do not be afraid to use whatever weapon you want. The weapons were put into this game for a reason. They were put in to be USED. If a person is so skilled, that they have to complain about a weapon being cheap, then they should be skilled enough to avoid being killed by that weapon.

Enough said, and have fun playing the game. Don't let other people ruin the experience for you.

There is another class......

3.) Players obsessed with Rank - These come in a few flavors...most popular listed below:
- a.) Rank ^ - These guys love playing in 3 round rooms of 3 min/ea, often against a team of players that is not even playing (dummy accounts used to rank up against)
- b.) Quitters/team switchers - These guys are convinced that one side or the other has the *advantage* on nearly every map and will switch to that side or quit the room to insure they win only...they will also try to "tag along" with other good players in the room to insure they are always winning.
- c.) Senseless camper - This guy does not ever want to die...for any reason...you can be down 1 to 5 with 1 opponent and 2 minutes left...and this guy will camp to insure his precious "kill/death ratio" isn't harmed.

I take alot of bullets for my team...never afraid to be the one that has to die to reveal the position of a sniper....sometimes it has to be done....ranking in a video game means nothing. For all of these guys, I have developed a special taunt....when I get killed I yell out, "Ouch, my rank!!!!!" or "Oooooh, my rank hurts!!!!"

Have fun in the game!!

I would say that I fall into the second group, that is always complaining about the lag or some dude taking 8 bullets b/f he goes down, or kills me, lol. Other than that I dont care about rank or guns used, I just get pi$$ed when I shoot some guy from behind or I get the jump on some 1 ( hitting them a few times in the process), and the dude turns and kills me. That to me is a frustration that most socomers experience. :D

I love it. Admittedly I am a Noob to most players on this forum, but I don't like to play with people who are afraid to die in a video game. I know it is tough taking smack from your friends, but sometimes you have to stick your head around the corner and get sniped. Otherwise, why play? My kill/death ratio sux, but I am not afraid to go after the MVP, and I like to hunt in packs.

I agree with you 100%. If I killed by a gun that I would never use such as a GL, shame on that person, but I will not complain. If I get killed by that person again shame on me. All the guns are even in socom 3 and if you are getting owned enough to call a gun a noob gun then you should probably reevaluate your perception of your skill because you are not very good.

I do have to say that I get pissed enought to complain in the rare event that I am in a gun fight but the guy I am shooting is downloading porn or something and is morphing so bad that I cant get a shot on him.

I was 100% Class 1 in Socom 2. I remember one time we were playing, and I was like 0-7 with an M40/9mm pistol and otter was like 5-6 and he was so angry. He goes "Bob, wtf is the problem with you, why don't you ever get mad about doing bad?" I was just like "Meh."

In Socom 3 however, I care a little. I like some decent stats, and will talk some **** if the need be. But most of the time, it's all fun and games. I'd be somewhere around Class 1.25 or something. Pretty much a Class 1, but I can roll with 2 if I have to. ;)

Although wars are an exception, I get kind of serious sometimes.

PS3 ID : Cylon-

Im defiantly class 1. I dont care about the game most of the time, and just have fun playing. If someone needs to be put in their place or something, I would step up to class 2 and show them who's boss

Heh, nice one there, Miller.

I'm going to admit I'm a partial type 2, I'll lean back in my chair and let out a 'grah!', or if I really feel cheated, I'll ask if I'm the only one in the game who saw that kill.

However, I generally try to keep a cool head and don't let the game get to me, as I laugh at those who let it bother them.

am like dr.jeckel and hyde (cant spell), i really dont care what gun the other person uses, i care a bit about my stats like my win and losses and i like having more kills than death, only time i turn angry is when ppl spawn camp u, not like normal spawn camping, the type where u figure out exactly where they spawn and just aim ur crosshair at it or scope it out. If ppl use GL's,airburst etc i reallydont care but when everyone on the map is using it and it turns to 5 frame rates per second then it pisses me off
