I will honestly state my opinion: The first difficulty you try is the hardest. You know jack squat about the levels, enemy placement, and the such. By Admiral, I knew where the enemies were, where the objectives were, how to get to point A from point B without disturbing point C that lies on segment AB (lol), and all that other stuff. The only thing I noticed is that, on most missions, the enemy can aim better. That's about it. Sure, my teammates are pieces, but honestly, have you ever depended on them? (okay, maybe just a little on Brewed Chaos)
It took me just under a day to beat all of SOCOM3. I beat it four times, 100% mission completion each time. (that seems long, but remember: you made n00bie mistakes your first time playing socom too, like trying to bank grenades into the Breakwater to clear the cargo hold and having them bounce back under Jester's feet. I made my fair share of them on Ensign, lol)
