What I do is on Crucible its very, very important you get a silenced SR-25 or SASR. Espiecally SEALS on convoy. Why? Because if they get up on the moutain and ur on a good camofouged area, they cant find you. This worked for me several times. Also, if sum1 wants a M87 with attachments, i never equip BIPOD. It never helps me becuz im always moving and the BIPOD only helps when ur in prone position. For Havester I equip this if Im on SEALS

M87 MARK23 2xSmoke(Because if ur by that tree they cant snipe)
Empty Silencer
High S

Hope u llike my tips

sniping patiently

The #1 tip i can give from my sniping career would defentitly be to be patient. If you find a good spot, and you dont see anyone run threw it for a while its ok just lay there like a rock an wait. If you chose to be a sniper your job is to spot the enemy an recon more then anything. Dont expect to take out half the team yourself, but try and inform your teammates of the enemys advances. Also try an pick off a few off them here an there to make it easyer for your team to win. If you can pick off key individuals, like the best guy on there team. Thats about it hope my tip helped a bit.

I hate it when people say the M40A1 sucks, in my opinion, it's the best sniper rifle in the game. It has great accuracy, and you don't need one shot one kill. Once they get hit with one shot, they slow down, giving you the chance to put another in their back. And for Convoy, just aim for the windows, and it will be your best friend. Great gun...

I love sniping with the M16...... put the high scope on it, the lazer...... and pop it into single shot........ so easy to get head shots, and fires damn quick. Only draw back....... if their to far away, it will just wound them, even on head shots........ then they see you, and snipe you. Moral, go after targets in range.

sniping in socom 3, has got to be the easiest of all 3 socom's. I mastered sniping in 1 and 2, and pwn everyone in 3 xD

anyways, the best way, imo, to snipe in socom 3, is leading, OR if you have a scope that can go about...1.5, 4, or 6 zoom, and your target is running, zoom to that and just zoom in after your scope is infront of them and FIRE!

Well my general advice is, you gotta be careful about what weapon your using. for example you have to be extra patient with the .50 cuz its really loud, but with a SR-25 Silenced, you can afford to be a little trigger happy.

mc-HAMmer13 u r dumb if u think the m87elr and the m82a1a r cheap sniper-rifles. there is a reason y they take half-life away or kill in one shot, its becuz they r bolt-action sniper-rifles, thats y it takes a little between shots, but if u kill that person with that one shot it doesn't matter how loud or how long it takes for the shot to reload, on harvester (sm) on seals i snipe from the same spot all the time and i always end up wit 10 kills or more on that map. its becuz most of the time ppl r stupid and run to thge same open spot that i can see, or i catch them with there scope on one of my teammates.

the m87elr and the m82a1a r very good guns that suggest to use if u wanna snipe on small, medium, and even large maps and get the 1 shot kill. also the guille suit is required for extra camo

Augustas u r so ****ing stupid, how can u complain or even call the m87 or the m82 cheap...how answer me that...its heavier than the other rifles, and no matter what u say it takes skill to use even those, in a match between the sr-25 and the m87 or m82 i would pick the m87 and m82

really :P

anyways, yeah, like erg said, the disadvantage of the M80's are that, they are slow to reload, loud, and have a lot of recoil. the advantages are that the gun is strong, and acurate. (h/e u spell it =S)

the sr's are deadly when silenced. they fire fast and are pretty silent when surpressed. they take 2 shots to kill, usually, and are light. the disadvantages are that they arent as acurate as the M80's and take more presision when aiming.

The L9A is the msot accurate sniper rifle in the game, but has an *** long time of reloading, but its easier to get head shots with.

The M40 is a well rounded sniper rifle falling in between all the sniper rifles. It's fire rate isnt as fast as the SR's but it isnt as slow as the M80's or the L9A. It's the second most accurate...i think "/. It would be a good gun to start off sniping with!

so as for the person who said that M80's are cheap, here's my argument.
