Mind over Matter = Determination of a GOD!
-Mind over Matter-

ok i figured i would discuss this with some of yall since ive made many an observation while playing Socom 3.....

i see alot of times ppl lets say 3 or 4 rounds in a game and are 0-4 or 1-4 and get discouraged and just say f@ck it with the game and either abort or give up trying something different.

why is this??

im just curious what the rest of you use to keep you "In the Game".
myself i go from round to round. As many of the ppl who have played with me online and/or are in my clan the key is to NEVER give up.just cause you have no kills in 3 or 4 rounds or 1 even doesnt mean it will be bad game for you.Myself due to my "strait killer rushin tactics" i find myself in these holes quite often but i never give up.

IT ONLY TAKES ONE GOOD ROUND TO PUT YOU BACK IN IT PPL!!!

This is my favorite saying for Socom 2 and 3.My friend who lives up the road from me (AGuyWithaGun) hears this from me all the time(im sure it gets old but hes seen it work).I mean it only takes 1 or 2 good rounds to put your kills over death for the game and get you going.I see too many ppl give up when they have more deaths than kills in a game and it bothers me.God forbid you should have a bad game ya know

Now im not sayin it works 100%of the time, buuuuut i would say atleast 85% of the time it does work and you can atleast come back from a sucky kill/death ratio in game and atleast be even at the end for the most part if not have more kills than deaths.

the keys-

NEVER GIVE UP!

Always push for that extra kill even if you think you will die!

Set ingame goals (example- your in round 4 and its tied 2-2 for the sides but your 0-4....well set your goal to be atleast half your deaths for that round, so atleast aim to get 2 kills and anymore is a plus).

Remember where you got killed and who was around (generally if ppl are gettin easy kills in a certain area ive learned they tend to stay around there....go with back up or try and flank them to catch them off gaurd).

Dont let having more deaths than kills bother you right away, it will only throw off your game in the long run!

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Now im curious what method the rest of you use to overcome more deaths than kills in order to even it up by the end of the game or have more kills than deaths by then?I want proven methods too, to me this method of mine is proven if your upbeat and the outlook is "play round to round,it only takes 1 or 2 to put you over the top".Ill tell you now, determination can be as powerful as any weapon in this game if utilized!!!

So lets hear how you stay on top guys....not much else to really talk about in or about Socom 3 so with this it can help with any game really.

p.s. Remember kids...the only REAL losers are...QUITTERS!!!!

Even if you have a bad game or lose doesnt make you awful, it makes you better in the long run

I usually switch weapons which causes me to switch tactics. My previous weapon and tactics weren't working so by switching it up my strategy will change and the enemy won't be able to kill me the same way. I may grab a 203 to kill the rushers or sniper to kill the campers. Grab a silenced weapon and stay hidden. AG94 and rush or try using a vehicle and move to a different part of the map. In short, switch it up.

My first move is to switch Spawn Points. The game plays very differently from each Spawn Point.

If nothing else, it gives you a different look and a fresh start.

DUMB PRIDE is the best motivator, the unwillingness to admit defeat and the belief that you can make the difference and bring the team back from down 0-4.

Exactly Lu. You know in Socom 2, this would happen to me frequently.

I'd just pick up something like an M3, and just rush straight in there. TEAR THEM APART! Thats all you've gotta do. Once you die, drop it, pick up something else. It makes you A LOT more motivated when you have a better score. Sure, maybe you have to use a "noob toob" for a round or two, but once your score catches up.. your motivation increases a lot.

Ah yes I remember this advice well. I would sometimes say "wow im doing so ******..." then Lu would always all you need is one round. Sure enough I a few rounds later I would get my 4-6 kills in one round, that evened out my kills/deaths.

Morale is? Follow the advice!!

As a general rule, if im dying to much, Ill just slow it down. start "camping" a bit more. I wont just pick the cheesiest hiding place in my spawn, and stay there the whole round. I always move towards whatever objective i gotta complete, but ill just do so much much more slower.

I take a good peak around hot corners, especially now that there are so many hiding places. I avoid moving around for no reason (going half way across a base only to come right back were i was), I check my six very very very often, or try to have it covered (teammate, wall) and very important, once i do get that breakthrough round, i make sure the next round over im not doing the exact same thing, even though it worked.

But all in all, I just dont even worry about it. As frustrating as bad games can ever be, I too have a saying to fight them:
There's always another round.
So dont sweat it, if this game belongs to someone else, you'll get yours next one around.

I thought that this thread was the old one that you wrote for Socom 2. I'm going to find the old one to make sure that you didn't just copy and paste.

It is i just reworded some of it since it still applies to socom 3. And the old one is locked in archives so this one got a fresh start for different perspectives about socom 3 -Lu

I never camp when I do bad. I just rush somewhere else. I used to like camping, but I do it less and less. I'd rather just run as fast as I can and catch people by surprise. When I do bad, I just turn on the TV so that I don't get tired of watching living people (watching living people on Socom has shown me why the undead always hate and envy the living.)

I can't find the old thread. You must have moved it and changed Socom 2 to Socom 3. I'm onto you, Lu!

what keeps me in the game is revenge, if some one kills me, i go count the people around him and make em all corpses the next round... though i almost never change my PLAN just my SPOTS and weapon sometimes...

Sometimes if I'm doin bad, I pull out a sniper rifle. I do that, because when you snipe, you basicly just camp back. So by camping back with a sniper rifle, you are probably getting less deaths. It may be differnt though with an assult rifle. I use the sniper when I camp instead of an assult rifle because you can pick off the people coming to kill you. I usually snipe for 2 or 3 rounds and get my kills up then I change to an assult rifle and stay by where I used to snipe. Doing that, I get the people who are trying to sneak up on my because they think I am sniping, and then I kill them to get my kills up even more
