Making a long distance kill at 125+ meters

Is it just my game or does everyone else have trouble taking an enemy down at 125+ meters? I'll use this as an example, in the map that looks like Devil's Road online where you find Mahmood in the village, I was using my M14 with the HIGH SCOPE, I achieved multiple headshots on an enemy tango (my scope read 137m), but he still kept moving around. In some cases it took me 15 rounds of 7.62 ammo from my M14 to take down a terrorist at 125+ meters, with NO missed shots. That means he took 15 rounds before going down. Not to mention about 8 of those shots were in the dome. I think it has to do with the range of the weapon, but I KNOW for a fact that the M14 can reach well beyond 500 yards and not have any accuracy problems. Same case with the M16A2 with the HIGH SCOPE, and I dont use burst on it, just good ol' fashioned single shot.

It's pretty much "hit or miss" with shooting someone from such a distance... it's why I prefer getting under 100 meters no matter which weapon I am using.

i dont notice that but u were probably shooting near him not hitting him,
and yes the m-14 shoots far i just shot a real 1 the other day at the range dam thing kicks like a ***** but is fun.

Well I have no problem at all. I just use the M16 with a high scope and a rifle laser. i snipe everyone and it makes the game so easy not that its challenging to begin with.

I agree... the only challenging part to this game is trying to keep your nimrod SEAL buddies alive throughout the course of a level.

Putting a scope on your weapon doesnt increase its range, just your range of sight. Also zipper probably toned down the range of the weapons.

Example: I was sniping in Devil's road with SR-25 with silenecer. And I kept shooting him with my rifle at 140m, and he didnt die. So I moved in closer and took him out.

Its nice to see that zipper finally put in "ranges" for guns instead of the old Socom "physics" engine, If you can see it you can hit it.

if your looking for a good non sniper rifle gun that u can have a high scope on and shoots real far. my first recomendation is the m16 high scope and either the laser or the bipod. depending on the terrain. and second is the m14 with high scope and bipod or laser.

since i am a sniper, but not all maps call for a real sniper rifle i tend to stick with the m16 or m14.

kil i know exactly what you mean. the target is in range of your weapon (no dotted lines in distance meter), you shoot him about 5 times, and he just crawls with blood marks on his head and back. always happens to me with bush boy in devils road.

Sometimes it seems like the shots don't even register or reach that far. It's stupid.

I prefer the M14 with a Low Scope and Bipod for sniping. It's a perfect headshot weapon, too.

Psst...DangerDoom....you can't put a Bipod on an M16.
