Censorship is starting to piss me off. Nudity is looked down upon so much in today's society. Its strictly forbidden in public or on basic TV channels. What are they going to do next, make it illegal for me to look at myself? And with profanity... What makes a word "bad?" "Darn" and "damn" have the same meaning, but its perfectly O.K. for someone to say darn. Same thing with "Frig" and "f*ck." I don't understand how something coming out of someone's mouth is hostile. Acts of hostility are physical, not mental. I think it is a person's freedom to decide what they want to say and how they want to live. Censorship denies us some of that freedom. All I want is for my 1st amendment rights to not be violated. It's not too much to ask for a freedom that we are constitutionally promised, is it?

Bad words represent aggression, hatred, and a negative attitude. Nudity is associated with sex, corruption, etc. These things are banned so as to prevent young children from being exposed. I'm not saying i agree, but that is the logic they use.

I feel that it's easier just to ignore it than to fight it. Complaining is a wasteful exercise since you can't win.

Um, YOUR 1st amendment rights are not being violated or stepped on at all. You can go and swear and watch porn all you want, and no one can do anything about it. There are many guidelines and such in place for T.V. and other media outlets, but ultimately its the choice of the owner of the channel and the leaser of that channel.

The same goes for video games. By someone rating a game "adult" they are not censoring it from ME. It is companies like Walmart that will choose to censor it by not letting me buy it from them. Its the same as if I were to enter a resturant. I have no constitutional right to be there, but since I am let in, I can be there. I have no constitutional right to be served anything there, but if the owner chooses to serve me, good for him! I can also be told to leave at anytime for no reason, and I will have to oblige.

Basically, in America, we have more rights than we have appendages to count them on. Like Big Red said though, we can't go around corrupting the youth just because you want to watch porn on basic cable at 10 in the morning.

Yes, Censorship sucks but there's nothing we can do about it. I do belive that their is no such thing as a "bad" word. Words are words they don't kill you they don't make you bleed.

"Damn" is not the same thing as "darn." Damn is to adverse judgment upon someone and I guess it all goes back to the bible how you should not judge people.

And "f-ck" is to either have sexual intercourse or to betray or cheat someone. Somewhat different from "frig" which is to only have sexual intercouse or masturbate on. (tee hee)

My suggestion to all of you, go listen to George Carlin. He is the official enemy of the FCAA. And you know what, the words themselves aren't bad, it's the way they're used.
