Super Overprotective Mothers
You know what pisses me off? Those mothers against violence in movies and games and on the internet. I'm talking about the ones who protest and take action against violent games and such. I just thank god that my mom isnt like that... Heres a perfectly good example of what I'm talking about.
http://www.mavav.org/
Take a gander on that site. Basically, the mothers who are part of that organization are like Hitlers, and their kids are Jews. I feel sorry for any kid who has to deal with a mother like that. Heres an email i sent to the organization-
Quote:
To Whom It May Concern:
I think that it is absurd to overreact at this level over video games. I will speak from experiance here. Violent video games act as something to take anger out on. If i didn't have a good shooting game a few times in my life, I probably would have had so much anger built up inside me to have attacked someone with the intent to kill them. Violent video games take anger out.
Now I would like to quote your section on "Overwhelming response." You said that "While the majority of the responses were sent in by feral young children and pre-teenage gamers"... The "feral young children" most likely have overprotective mothers who act like Hitler against video games.
I would like for someone to hear me out here. Video games aren't real. When someone plays a shooting game, real people don't get shot. It is all fiction. You organization should be aimed at preventing real life violance, not video game violance.
You also have one section titled "E3: The Evil Entertainment Expo." With all due respect, you can go **** yourselves. E3 is aimed at showing upcoming games, some of which are violet. DEAL WITH IT. It's not a very pressing issue that kids play violent video games. What is a pressing issue is ACTUAL VIOLANCE.
Another article title is "Americas Army: A New Low." What I bet the article is about is how they are trying to recruit people into the Army through the use of video games. WRONG. Research your topics first. America's Army was designed using the Army training simulators and was aimed for use by the public, but not to recruit. In the game and on the website there are no hints to recruiting.
My next problem is with "Video Game Networks or Online Training Camps?" Video games are nothing like real life. In a video game, the person playing doesn't actually run or crawl around and shoot a gun. Real life is much different. Just about all of your topics have flaws in just the titles. Better research is needed.
Heres a quote from your resources- "Fact: Health studies have found that even those casual gamers suffer from low self-esteem and self-pride compared to their athletic and more socially accepted peers in their same age group." I am a "casual gamer". I couldn't be happier with myself. I have many friends who I'd consider casual gamers. About 90% of them have very high self esteem and self pride.
Heres something you have backwards. "Danger: Do video games make people violent?
Yes. What was once a debatable question, is now fact. New research has concluded that video game violence and behavior related violence are in fact closely related."
Violent people play violent games. Games don't make people violent. Your facts are one sided, and they are leaning towards propaganda.
"Danger: Do video games teach people how to kill?
Yes. When video games were linked to the Columbine high school shooters, a frenzy of new research was launched, in which, one team of researchers discovered that first person shooter games do indeed teach gamers with the basic knowledge of how to kill. This research arrived be so conclusive that the U.S. government Army developed a free video game to be used as a virtual boot camp and killing simulator." I am pretty sure that a 5 year old has the basic knowledge on how to kill someone. The Columbine shooters were very disturbed before video games came into their lives. They were just troubled kids. In their minds there was no alternative but death.
If you actually took the time to finish this, thanks. Your website is lacking knowledge and is very one sided. You need to learn both sides of the story before you write about it. You also need to focus on an objective that makes sense. Please stop depriving the youth of something that is considered fun. Please stop being so overprotective.

Good stuff :D
My mom has no problems with games, because she knows I'm smart enough to know it's not real and doesn't portray real life. Good points but they'll just respond with rediculous neologisms. Much like all radicals.

I am expecting a reply to my email soon, and I'm expecting it to tell me that I'm wrong or that I smoke crack. If I become a parent someday, I will never put my kids through this ********.

Instead of sending an awesome e-mail like you did, all I send them was this:
I'm pretty sure it has the same message.

OMG dude that is the funniest **** ever. I can't stop laughing when i see that. Back to topic. Well these "mothers" are the reason why there are labels on CD's saying warning and all that ********. I personally hate CENSORSHIP of all kinds. Violates our constitutional rights. If one of those ladies were to be my mom i would slap her across the face and tell her to get her facts straight. I just can't understand why people nowdays are so uptight about sex and violence. It's human nature. People like them piss me off and are a waste of life.

Shouldn't it be: VVGPAMAVGAV - Violent Video Game Players Against Mothers Against Video Game Addiction and Violence.
Not: Violent Video Game Players Against Mothers Mothers Against Videogame Addiction and Violence.
????
Just a thought.

Too many mothers. Otherwise I encourage you to do it. It'd be mildly funny.
