No customization, only one controller option?
Whats the point of limiting the controls? How hard would it have been to let me change the presets? I played Socom 1 forever with a certain control setup (R1 wasn't the fire button), and now I get to "test" this game without the option of changing it? Why? Socom II was dissappointing to me and my friends because of little uneccessary tweaks in the gameplay. I just hope that Zipper or Sony or whoever can stick with what works, and realize there is a difference between change and improvement. Now I get to go play Socom like its the first time I've ever picked up the controller....hope the enjoyment of the new features makes up for the difficulty I'll have getting used to a new set of controls.

They always give the option of different control schemes, but completely remaking your own controller scheme? I dont remember that in SOCOM 1. But remember, this is only a beta, not a final version. This will probably be the default scheme, unless you change it.

They had different presets available in both the other socoms. I think they were called scout, seal, etc. I see them listed in the options for Socom 3, but they aren't available. I just don't understand why that would be. It's almost like it would have taken more effort to limit the options than it would have taken to implement them. Its not a big deal, just a little frusturating.

Dude, they are probably only giving you one controller option to see if there is anything wrong with that setup. I'm assuming this is the new setup with the L2 button as talk and the L1 button as quick change, right? Maybe they just wanted to see how people would respond to this configuration.

I have always changed my reload button to select. All you have to do is go to the options or controller settings.

You change "Releod"? or "Fire Select"? Think carefully one cycles mags, the other cycles semi - burst- full. Wouldn't a safety be freakin sweet? Lol jk

And then you are running around in a firefight and the score screen comes up! I would rather change the rate of fire and try to deal with that instead of not being able to see what was going on.

Sure for a second it might pop up which to me would be no big deal a 1 second popup compared to a 5-10 second mad dash for cover while getting shot in the brown eye while you try to get back to auto.....just my opinion i could be wrong
