wives & socom
ok, just wanna know who here is married and if so, how socom affects your relationship w/ your significant other...
I've been hooked on socom since S1 back in August 02, then married in Oct 03, then S2's release in Nov 03...no end in sight (for either the marriage or socom addiction)
anyway, has socom been a sore point for your marriage? has it driven a wedge between you both? or on the flip side, does your wife actually like you playing, rather than having you going to happy hour w/ your work buddies, or worse yet, chasing some tail at the local strip club...?
thoughts n gripes plz =)

Im not married, because well...im 15. But we have quite a few people in our clan when him and his wife plays socom. They get into it together. So it all works out.
But also some people dont do th at but it doesnt seem much of a problem for them.

I dont think my wife knew s1 existed, or payed attention to my playing it.
and it was good.
S2 came around, and she took note and interrest. She started playing just as much as i did. (with only 1 ps2)
and that was bad...
the worst thought, is that she sucked as first, and would always ask me for advice, on what to do, where to go, etc. so I'd tell her, and then she'd screw it all up in the funniest (most idiotic) of ways, which is, in the end, always my fault...
sparts
ps: zero, i remember this 1 guy i clanned with, his wife wouldnt let him play whenever she was home, and whenever she would be at work, or w/e, she'd call him, and keep him on the phone so he woulnt pay attention to Socom.
those were some good additionnal LOL's and LMFAO's

I'm married and have 2 small kids. Socom can definitely be a sore spot for us. Fortunately, my wife is an RN and works Midnights, 3 days a week. So, I limit my playing time to when she's at work and the kiddies are in bed.

jayshift, I'm in the same boat...I have 2 young kids too, so I play mostly when they're all in bed
of course I don't crank up the volume late at night, but whenever I happen to be home alone playing, I blast my surround sound way up to get that full-on, battlefield effect =)
back to wives though, it's all about compromising w/ them and agreeing on terms...play to your heart's content, but never sacrifice quality time w/ the family

Many of my friends are married and the socom playing experiences differ for all of them. Mostly from what I've seen, many wives don't mind it at all (within reason of course). It's much safer, cheaper, and cleaner than letting their hubbies go "out with the guys". Some actually love when they play because then they have an excuse to go out with the "girls". Of course, some of my friends are spineless *****cats and can only play when they are "allowed" to.

I am happily married and at one point Socom did affect my relationship. You have to learn not to put off family activities for Socom. If you do this she will not have a problem with you playing. I also have three kids under six years of AGE.

Me and this guy in my clan we're playing and his fiance needed the guys to go to the store and he was just playing with her and he kept saying "No" to her so she grabbed his nuts and he started screaming like a little girl. It was so funny :o
