Teh Starcraft thread

I felt this needed a thread seperate from the blizzard one. Rant about sc all you like, about ur fav race, fav strategy, fav units, etc.

I love zerg for the cheap and high rate of production. They are teh pwnz0rt with teh uber numbers.

Build a Pylon at 8 guys.

scout

always build more probes, alwatys, every second of the game

Make some gateways and more pylons...

Zealot RUSH

Build core

goons

zealot and goon army

Get DT's

Build dropship

Get 4 DT's in dropship

Rush enemy with goons and zealots at front of base, make big commotion

Drop DT's at minerals at their base

Let DT's do the dirty work, kill off workers first, move to front of base and clear it out.

Have your backup forces and more forces on the way walk right in and pwn the rest. Make sure you have Goon range upgraded so you kill off anything flying (like Terran buildings) and a few zealots.


Pwn, 7 minutes it can be done in.

Look for TeH-uTTz!

Good strat, but i love taking Zerg Devourers, Mutalisks, and the guys that fly but can only shoot ground units (forgot the name) and utterly pwning. The big dudes act as heavy artillery and take out any defense structures and units from a large distance while devourers pwn any air units coming in. Mutalisks clean up the rest. Only thing that can pwn this strategy is a large amount of carriers, but nobody every has that.

Edit- big gap in ur plan. If the enemy isnt a n00b and has any sort of air defenses inside of the base the drops will get blown out of the sky before they can get to the minerals. And any detectors inside the base will give away the dt's. It takes a small force to pwn dt's. Zealot rushes arent effective if i paired lurkers, sunkens, spores, hydras, and 'lings, all of which will be present in great numbers before you get your zealots and goons. All terrans need are wraiths, tanks, bunkers, marines, bats, and goliaths(i love goliaths).

Notice I had a timeline. Of course this wouldn't work 15 minutes into the game...the time it takes successfully to build a good DT rush is 7 minutes. That's how long I take.

No one has a mass of hydras or lurkers by then, and not TOO too much air defense, I always find a way to sneak in.


BTW Those Zerg things that fly and can only shoot ground units are called Guardians.

Riight riight. I thought dark templars required some uber buildings and upgrades. If you focus on the rushing though, any rushes by an enemy can catch you off-guard. I tend to hunker down and build a strong defensive line. Then i begin worrying about offense. Although im not big on all-out rushing. I like wearing down the defenses, slowly but shurely.

Even thoughy Protoss are pimp, I feel they are the IW-80's of SC.

I gotta go with Terran here.

From the start, build some SCVs and start on your supply depots.

Continue building more SCVs and supply depots while have other SCVs build Barracks and Refinery's.

Start pumping out the Marines while building more SCVs, Depots, Bunkers, and start o two engineering bays and the Academy.

Start pumping out Marines, Firebats, and Medics while starting on the Weapons Factory.

Rush with your super sweet army while have the medics follow a certain infantry and start with Goliaths and Siege Tanks.

If you army wasen't quick enough to end it there, start setting up the tanks at artillery range with goliaths as their protectors and start picking off their base.

Just keep this up and it should work while keeping a close eye and continuing building on your defense for those just-in-case surprise attacks.

PS: Turrets and Science Vessels are key... Don't leave home without them.

Terran are easily overrun by zerg and pwnz0rt by toss. I dont like them that much. The only kickass stuff they have are tanks and goliaths and ghosts. Same as with toss, by the time you get your "uber army" ready, i would have three times the army but with half the cost. Zerglings>marines hydralisks>bats

Sorry Red, M&M (Marines [firebats] & medics) will pwn the living **** out of any Zerg units. Especially once we start getting some Marine range upgrades and some Medic upgrades, your hydras are no problem. Then there's his tanks to worry about. They pick off your sunkens no trouble, then his M&M army with sci vessel moves in, kills lurkers (shouldn't lose too many marines if you spread em out) tanks and goliaths bring up the rear.

Once he starts building as he moves along into your base or towards your choke you are finished, he can build a factory, but it's usually Turrets and/or bunkers you're air is finished.

He can get his dropships loaded with 8 M&M's and then drop your base.


If there is a pesky lurker who took some damage but killed off a lot of Terran, the sci vessel does that (wtf is it called?) where it makes you green...like a virus...and you lose life. Byebye pesky lurker.

Overall, M&M + Tanks and Turrets > Zerg. Anyday.

I love Starcraft and I'll be on the East server under the name the_xa.
My favorite strategy(although inneffective) is the plain M&M(no firebats). Just, build 6 Marines and 2 Medics, shove em' in a drop ship. Then you get 12 dropships or more, distract their front lines with tanks and drop all the **** in their base with SV's.

Me = the_xa, I'll probably be on for a while in the east server. Channel 'socom3.com'


Our channel is 'socom3' no .com at the end, says so in other thread :D -øtter
