I've been hearing August 15th as a tentative release date for SOCOM 3...

I've been hearing a lot on August 15th also. However, I cannot understand Sony's logic for releasing it in the middle of Summer. If they were thinking they would release it before Christmas at the November Game Craze in the beginning of November. This is what they did for SocomI and II. If they are releasing it in August, more people will be happy, but they would lose some sales off of release because Parents won't buy kids a video game right before school starts. Seeing as how so many people are under 16 (who would be most affected by the release) the massive sales wouldn't come in until November/December. Kids will need to "show their efforts" before they can buy the game lol.

LOL. commander i am guessing you are a parent. I see your Point though, maybe they think they can sell more copies if they ahve more time before the end of the year. Maybe the ps3 that is sitting quietly in some lab somewhere is planning on a release to close to the beginning of the year. :D

c0mmand3r isn't a parent, he isn't even 18 yet. The release date is officially August 15th as of now, though it will most likely be delayed...hope it is, they better not release some POS.

C'mon... I was thinking the same thing myself. Think about it though... I'm sure it will be "delayed" as Sony builds up da hype for it with more and more tidbits of information until it is evenutally released (my bet is on fall).
Search your feelings... you know it to be true.

It wont be a problem for me to buy the game, but if there is a problem with marks, I can't play it. Lucky for me, I don't have problems with my marks because I want to play.
